Identification:
Small stocky bronzy-grey shark, no conspicuous markings. Unmistakable very long, flattened, spade-like snout, small eyes, small smooth-edged blake-like teeth, short broad triangular pectoral fins, rear tip of first dorsal over pelvic midbases, second much smaller and originating well behind origin of larger anal fin. No interdorsal ridge.

Distribution and Biology ;
Indo-west Pacific. Viviparous. Eat small pelagic schooling and bottom-living bony fishes, also shrimp and cuttlefish.

Fishery :
IUCN Red List: Near Threatened. Abundant but very heavily fished.
